Pine Blossom: Spring Collection Launch

Pine Blossom: Spring Collection Launch

Pine Blossom — our Spring 2024 collection — is built around a color that exists only briefly in nature: the pale yellow-green of pine pollen suspended in spring air. It is a color that appears for a few weeks each year, in mountain forests across East Asia, and then vanishes until the next spring. This transience is central to its appeal.

The Color

In the Chinese color system, this hue lives between qīng (青, blue-green) and huáng (黄, yellow) — in the space of "between colors" that traditional naming reserves for natural phenomena too specific for the cardinal palette. We call it Pine Blossom because no abstract color name captures its quality. It is not chartreuse, not sage, not lime. It is the color of a specific moment in a specific landscape.

The Fabrics

The collection is built on natural fabrics that echo the color's organic origin. Raw linen in its undyed state provides the base — a warm, textured canvas that carries the Pine Blossom dye with a soft, uneven absorption. Silk-cotton blends add a subtle sheen that catches light the way pollen catches morning sun. Every fabric choice serves the color's character: gentle, vital, quietly luminous.

The Silhouettes

Pine Blossom garments favor relaxed, unstructured forms. The Pine Linen Set features wide-leg trousers and an oversized top that moves with the body rather than constraining it. The Blossom Kimono Jacket drapes from the shoulder without padding or internal structure, allowing the fabric to find its own line. The Spring Wrap Skirt uses an asymmetric hem that creates movement with each step.

These silhouettes are designed for ease — for the wearer who values comfort without sacrificing presence. The collection is meant to be lived in, not posed in.

The Philosophy

Pine Blossom embodies a principle that runs through all of JIANGSÈ's work: the most powerful colors are those that remind us of something we have seen but cannot name. They operate below the level of conscious recognition, creating a sense of familiarity that precedes understanding. The wearer may not know why a Pine Blossom garment feels right. But it does.
